Thanks to the opening of another Easy Peezy Washroom Plus site, spending time in downtown Trail is twice as easy for families with young children. The Trail & Area Health and Environment Program (THEP) now hosts an Easy Peezy Washroom Plus in their community office at 1319 Bay Street. Local families, City officials, business leaders and representatives from Teck Metals Ltd., the Family Action Network (FAN) and the Trail and Area Health and Environment Program celebrated the opening.

“We want parents with young kids to feel welcome to pop in and use our Easy Peezy washroom when the kids just “gotta go”, offers Cindy Hall, Community Program Representative for the THEP. “We are very pleased to be an Easy Peezy site, offering another service to families at our Community Program Office.”

The Program Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Families are welcome to use the Easy Peezy site during these times.

“The Trail and Area Health & Environment Program office has made significant upgrades to their washroom and has created a comfort station with a cozy chair in a private area where a parent can feed or tend to their child.” explained FAN Executive Director Christy Anderson. The addition of this Easy Peezy site makes two locations in the downtown core of Trail. “The Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) office on Cedar Avenue also hosts an Easy Peezy Washroom Plus with comfort area. We are grateful to our community partners for providing these amenities for local families.”

Over the past year, FAN has partnered with five different organizations to open Easy Peezy sites in the downtown areas of both Rossland and Trail. FAN is currently working with the City of Trail and Village of Warfield to establish Easy Peezy Washrooms at the Trail Memorial Centre and Aquatic Centre and the Warfield Community Hall.
